I’ve been busy, busy, busy.

I know…nobody cares and everyone is busy. I actually do care though. I wasn’t for a long time so being busy is something that I’ve had to get used to over the last week-ish since I started a new job. I’ve also been a reading machine, a workout monster and an obsessive Fizzler. Add on the search for a second job and an hour of The Millionaire Matchmaker here and there (I’m so gonna be on that show someday) and I’ve been sleeping like a baby from pure exhaustion!

That’s my long-winded excuse for not posting in over a week.

The job I took is a 6 month commitment. It coincides with the school year, so I’m pretty much locked in until June. Not exactly what I had in mind when I planned to leave for California two weeks ago. I’m still trying to figure out what made me decide to stay. That is definitely a post for another day. Regardless of why, I’m starting to accept it. I’ve even cut back on the time I spend craigslisting for apartments in OB. Its pure torture but I can’t stop. Its like my new facebook or something.

I never intended to stay on the east coast this long. It was always possible that I would just pack up and leave…any day now. As a result, I never really settled here. I’ve been staying in a guest room and didn’t even really unpack when I got back from Thailand. I don’t have much stuff and thought I would be gone soon enough. Since I’m not gone, I figured I should make the best of it. I spent almost the entire weekend rearranging and redecorating the room and I swear I’m new woman. Its amazing what a little change and personal flair can do to make you feel totally refreshed. Change is good. I’ve always believed that. A little feng shui doesn’t hurt either 😉

I’m most pumped about the new working space I created. I’ve just been writing and working in random places. I feel like it was really hindering my progress and flow. That sounds lame and new-agey but its the truth! It is way too easy to get distracted when you’re working on a laptop. I got a flimsy little folding table, stole a chair from another room, put out my books and BAM – home office. I love it! I can tell its going to be a huge help in blocking off time to work on my business. I’m super excited to have a place where I can just sit and focus. So far, 2013…I kinda like you.
